Elizabeth Davis is the executive director of Amani Africa, having spent the better part of the last two years in Kigali, Rwanda.

Elizabeth graduated from Vanderbilt University with a degree in Political Science and International Development. Her interest in grassroots development first began while volunteering with various nonprofit organizations in Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Peru throughout high school and college. Shortly after her college graduation Elizabeth left for Rwanda to participate in a delegation studying human rights and post-conflict reconciliation with the organization Global Youth Connect. It was through this delegation that she first met and started working with Gasana Mutesi and Charles Nkazamyampi who run an organization that houses, educates, and provides programs for youth made homeless by the Rwandan genocide.

In 2007 Amani Africa registered as a 501c3 in the United States and Elizabeth is now responsible for all fundraising and development programs in the US, splitting her time between Kigali and Washington, DC.
