The Realist Idealist

…what would it be? Are we hard liquor or something smoother? Billy Bob at the bar takin’ down a Coors Light or James Bond sipping a martini over a game of cards? More like gin and tonic or rum and coke? Fruity? Shaken? Umbrellas? Stirred? Olives?

Whether you are one to partake or not, this is a very important question.

Seriously.

No really.

I mean it.

Not kidding.

I swear.

As fast as your brilliant idea and resource connecting minds can work, we need your help coming up with the perfect (and creative) cocktail that represents Idealist.

The reason?

One of our media partners, Mashable.com, is working on a unique community project which leverages technology and well…cocktails. Mashups of another sort, so to speak.

Mashable’s lead author, Kristen Nicole, is creating a charitable book for (and by) web businesses and notable individuals. The book is a collaborative, print-on-demand cocktail recipe book where anyone can submit a recipe and anyone can customize a book for purchase by picking and choosing which recipes they’d like in their customized version.

They’re going to be offering special TECH cocktail versions of the book at their TECH Cocktail event series in Chicago on May 29, and they’ll also be included as gifts to the speakers at the conference. So on a basic level, we want to be in it.

Jake, I still don’t get this. Book about cocktails? Idealist is umm… making the world a better place here. You know, solving sorrows …not drowning them. Why have I read this far? …and why do I need to help come up with Idealist’s cocktail ASAP?

Well, also of note is that all the proceeds from the book will go to Idealist and we want to make sure to participate with something good!

So get creative, have some fun, visit your local watering hole (after hours) for inspiration, mash up and mash down, and then send me your Idealist cocktail mashup as soon as you can.
