YouTube Rolls Out New Look for Nonprofits

April 13th, 2008 · 1 Comment

In early October YouTube announced the YouTube for Nonprofits Program and a special site for them that would allow them to have full branding of a page and free processing of donations for Google Checkout.

Since then, hundreds of nonprofits from the ONE Campaign to the Clinton Foundation to PlayPumps International have launched pages and raised awareness of their causes.

This week they rolled out their improvements to the site, making the nonprofits section a much more integral part of the site by doing such things as adding “nonprofits” to the list of standard channels and reworking the www.youtube.com/nonprofits homepage to be more YouTube-y.

Hats off to Steve and the gang for keeping the wheels turning and continuing to grow and make the program better!

Another sign of the times: people understand that nonprofits need help promoting themselves, and are willing to help. Way to go, YouTube.
